Gibson A-Style Mandolin
The mandolin you are looking at is used but in fair condition.
The frets are in ok shape but are pitted. I believe there is enough fret left if you would need a fret dress.
The mandolin has it's usual wear that I tried to show in pictures. I didn't see any major dings, just the head stock a bit and of course the picking area on the face is worn.
The mandolin will be shipped in what I have always called a chipboard case.
I wanted to make a note: I have been selling instruments for over 30 years. In that time I have sold many great instruments but every once in a while you get something that is special, I have always called these unicorns. This mandolin is one of those in my opinion.
As mentioned the frets are worn but man this thing plays and sounds like it was owned my a famous bluegrass star. I hit a good old "D" chord on it, not even thinking much about it, and it shocked me how loud yet warm it was. Started picking a bit and immediately started wondering how can get my wife to let me get ANOTHER instrument. These mandolin should go to a picker and I hope it does, unless my wife says "yes" first.
