Vintage KAY KRAFT Mandolin. Recent Estate find. Circa 1950's.  A-Style Body.  Beautiful Cosmetic condition. Appears hardly ever played.  Original Soft-shell Case.  ***Project condition - Needs some structural repairs... SCARCE !!

Beautiful old Mandolin. This all original Kay Kraft was one of Kay's higher end models. Excellent original finish. Spruce Top. Mahogany Back and Sides. Top & Bottom Celluloid or Plastic Binding. Bone Nut. Quality Adjustable Bridge. Fingerboard & Frets look never played-on. Standard Mandolin Tailpiece. Pickguard is in perfect condition. The original Case looks almost like new.. **This Mandolin had been tuned-up for years. When I acquired it, I played a little on it and it has great tone and volume... I just wish that they had not left it tuned-up and under the bed for years.. Surely someone can get it back in easy playing condition without too much trouble..
Like I said before, the Mandolin is a beauty cosmetically and probably played very little but, as mentioned in the Condition area above.. the Mandolin needs work structurally. The Neck Joint is loose and needs re-glued or reset.  The Neck has a little warp that is most
prevalent at around the 10th Fret. The warp needs straightened. ... Other than those two problems, the Mandolin is great. Surely some Repair Person can can make this Kay Kraft back into a  good player. .. Right now, it's just a good looker and scarce collectible Mandolin.
